Robin Schertz, APN

Staff Education:

Robin received her Master of Science in Nursing from Mennonite College of Nursing and is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner – ANCC. Robin has practiced as an APN for over 20 years, working both in the hospital and clinic setting with Interventional Radiology, Intensive Care Units and Internal Medicine.

Hobbies / Interests:

I enjoy spending time sewing, gardening and cooking

What medical change has impacted the field of cancer the most since you began practicing medicine?

While working in oncology, I have been amazed by the development of immunotherapy treatments.

Why did you choose your field?

I have always enjoyed working in a specialty that is fast paced and constantly expanding with new treatments.

Central Illinois is home for me. I received my nursing training at Mennonite Hospital and am glad to serve my local community.

Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer?

Be your own advocate, ask questions. Keep organized. Be positive.
