When did you join Illinois CancerCare?August 2022
Hobbies / Interests:I love being with family. I have a large family and most of us live in central Illinois, so we get together often! My four kids (ages 11, 8, 6 & 4) keep me very busy with their hobbies. I also enjoy exercising and listening to podcasts!
Why did you choose your field?I started my nursing career taking care of St. Jude oncology/hematology patients and they stole my heart. The drive and love from those going through the most awful stage of life was unlike anything I had ever seen. It inspired me to live each day to the fullest.
Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer?Take small steps, have a positive mindset, and trust in God’s timing. When you look for the good, the good will find you. As healthcare providers, we are here to walk with you through the fears, struggles and triumphs of your individual journey!
