What medical change has impacted the field of cancer the most since you began practicing medicine?
Research and innovations that have allowed physicians to tailor treatments and provide personalized care.
Why did you choose your field?
The close patient relationship and rapid pace at which cancer treatment is evolving has been the drive of my everlasting love and passion for hematology/oncology.
Why did you choose Illinois CancerCare?
Illinois CancerCare’s commitment to providing cutting-edge care to patients and supporting the physicians to deliver the best care possible resonated with me. After completing my fellowship, I decided to join my husband in Peoria to be part of this well-established private practice that has been providing quality care to patients in the community for decades.
Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer?
A cancer diagnosis will most certainly change the course of your and your loved one’s life. A lot of your resources including your time, energy and finances will have to be diverted. Always remember that every time you choose to show up for yourself, you inspire others to be better. Always ask questions and have a conversation with your friends and physicians about what does not feel right. We are here to help.
