Staff Education:
Dr. Geoffroy received his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and his medical degree from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Geoffroy also completed a fellowship in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, and a fellowship in neuro-oncology at Duke University in 2012. He is board certified in neuro-oncology, medical oncology and internal medicine. Since joining Illinois CancerCare in 1994, he has specialized in brain, colon and skin cancer.

Family Information:
Dr. Geoffroy is originally from Madawaska, Maine, and now currently lives in Peoria with his family. “I am the proud father of two lovely, albeit precocious, children: Sabrina and Sebastian.”
Hobbies / Interests:
“I like to run marathons, bike, play the guitar and piano, and I love to read about science and history, especially the American Revolution.”
What medical change has impacted the field of cancer the most since you began practicing medicine?
"Targeted therapies are the biggest change I have witnessed in oncology.”
Why did you choose your field?
“I chose oncology for the research and scientific aspects.”
Why did you choose Illinois CancerCare?
“My former boss trained with my current partner, John Kugler, so I came to Peoria.”
Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer?
“My advice to patients with cancer: enjoy today, take one day at a time, and love your life.”
