April 2022
Hobbies / Interests:
I love to spend time with my family, whether it’s watching a movie together, cooking together, or following along and supporting each of them in their interests. My passion is singing, and I currently sing in my church praise band.
What medical change has impacted the field of cancer the most since you began practicing medicine?
The advances in therapy options to treat cancer as well as symptoms to provide better quality of life.
Why did you choose your field?
I have worked in a variety of areas and like the challenges and growth change brings. I chose to work for Illinois CancerCare because I was impressed by how evident it was that providing quality one on one care and support to every patient is a priority and how highly valued the role of the nurse practitioner is on the team.
Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer?
Avoid becoming overwhelmed and consumed with your diagnosis. Take some time every day to express what you are grateful for. It has been proven that gratitude not only benefits your emotional health, but your physical health as well!
