What medical change has impacted the field of cancer the most since you began practicing medicine?
The various treatment options available today to provide quality care to our patients is very encouraging. Although cancer is still the beast it always has been, we are better prepared to manage it today and improve our patients’ quality of life.
Why did you choose your field?
I have worked as an oncology nurse for several years, and have closely seen my patients battle cancer with bravery. I wanted to be an integral part of their journey, and hopefully create more success stories.
Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer?
Because of all the research that is being done to prevent and treat cancer, we have a lot more options to help treat your cancer. It can be very overwhelming to get the initial diagnosis, but Illinois Cancer Care is here to help and support you throughout your journey.
