Jessica Stewart, APN

Staff Education:
Jessica completed her undergraduate with Diploma in Nursing in December of 1997 graduating from Methodist School of Nursing and completing BSN in May of 2008 from OSF CON. Jessica completed her Master of Science in Nursing as Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist in May of 2011 from OSF CON. She is a Board Certified Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist

Family Information:
Jessica has been married for 16 years to her husband Chad. They have 3 children; Brock, 16, a Junior at East Peoria, Braden, 14, a Freshman at East Peoria and Brogen, 10, in 5th grade. Jessica has lived in the Peoria area for most of her life.
Hobbies / Interests:
“I enjoy spending time with my family and running to and from our children’s sporting events. I also enjoy running, reading, gardening and crafts.”
What medical change has impacted the field of cancer the most since you began practicing medicine?
“I think that overall there has been a steady and continual growth in the technologies and medicines used to diagnose and treat the many types of cancer, as well as the continual research and development.”
Why did you choose your field?
“I have worked in a variety of areas and was looking for a new challenge in which I can push myself and expand my knowledge base continually. The strong APN base and continual growth of this field of medicine at Illinois CancerCare really peaked my interest and drew me into this position.”
Do you have any advice to give patients after they have been diagnosed with cancer?
“Utilize all the support systems that are available to you and your family. Don’t ever be afraid to ask questions!”
